A Life Debt Repaid

In the silence of the top-floor office at Prosperity Tower, Mark Shen, with a stern expression, stared at the awkward woman standing before him.

“Why are you here again?” His tone was as sharp as a knife.

“Mom said to bring you this soup for your health.” Sarahs lips were dry as she spoke. She had rushed over right after work, skipping lunch, only to be met with a frown.

“You dont need to try so hard to please me. No matter what you do, you wont get a shred of affection from me.” Marks voice was filled with impatience and his eyes showed an indescribable loathing. Indeed, he despised Sarah! If it werent for her, he wouldnt have been forced to part ways with Monica!

“Im not trying to please you.” After a while, Sarah managed to utter this faint sentence, her delicate face expressionless. She didnt know what she could do to make Mark less indifferent and heartless towards her.

“Are you saying it wasnt your wish to climb into my bed? Wasnt our marriage voluntary? Fine then! Lets divorce! If you propose it, Ill give you anything you want!”

Mark put down the documents in his hand and leaned back lazily in his swivel chair, his long legs casually crossed, his neck tilted back, his dark pupils reflecting Sarahs frail figure. The words from his thin lips were merciless.

“I didnt!” Sarahs pale face protested. Mark never failed to mention divorce every time he saw her; it was impossible not to feel chilled. She clutched the handle of the thermos tightly, coldly staring at the indifferent man before her. Today marked exactly one year since she had married into the Shen family.

“Ha… Do you really want to have a child with me?” Mark sneered coldly, his eyes full of poison. If only he could indirectly poison her to death.

Monica and Sarah were both potential mothers he needed, but Monica was allergic to his sperm.

He would always remember that on Monicas birthday, he married Sarah.

Was it because the Shen family had a particularly severe hemophilia, and with each generation being an only child, he had to marry Sarah, who met all the conditions, to continue the Shen lineage? He was not willing to accept this!

Sarah pressed her lips together and remained silent, acquiescing. Because, for her, having a child was the only way to forever escape the Shen family.

“Come here!” Mark commanded sharply. If thats what she wanted, then he would satisfy her, wouldnt he?

Sarahs body jolted, avoiding Marks unfathomable eyes, she slowly walked over and carefully placed the thermos on the desk.

But! The next second, before Sarah could react, Mark swiftly pushed her onto the desk. The sudden inertia caused her arm to stretch forward, and the thermos on the edge of the desk was pushed by the force and fell to the ground with a crisp, dull sound!

Then, she shuddered all over!

“Rip!” Marks movements were quick and rough! He pinned her fiercely against the desk.

“You!…” Today, she was wearing a knee-length loose skirt.

“You wanted to have my child, didnt you? Then just be obedient!” Mark smirked, his tone full of disdain. This was Sarah; every time he used this threat, no matter the position, she would comply, and what was even more ridiculous was that she could always just right provoke his physiological response.

Without giving Sarah a chance to adjust, he charged recklessly! Venting his inner unhappiness and resentment, thats right! Hate him! Then propose a divorce! He didnt want to live under the same roof with such a rigid woman!

Sarah frowned and gritted her teeth, enduring this inhumane torment.

Yes… She was selfishly wanting to have his child, closed her eyes, revealed a bitter smile, and let him vent his hatred without any resistance.

“Ha! Sarah, youre not even as good as those ladies outside! They would at least gasp at a moment like this, but you? Youre like a wooden doll! No fun at all!” Marks words were full of heartlessness; indeed, he was using this method to torment her!
